7 Months Old

Sydney is now 7 months old.  Time flies by when you are having fun!  She is such a cutie pie.  She has decided to sit up on her own.  We went to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to take some pictures last Friday.  We sat her up and she stayed put.  She didn't care too much for the grass though--it was prickly. 

Sydney also celebrated her first Easter this past week.  She was so excited to see what the Easter Bunny left for her.  She also found 4 eggs on her first egg hunt.  Her cousin Marlo had her first birthday party on Easter.  She had a great time at the party!

Baby Mauldin's Showers and More

Sydney had a fun-filled day Saturday attending her Aunt Katie's baby showers.  We had one in Oxford with dad's side of the family and the Mauldins and then we had another with mom's side and our home church.  She got lots of cute clothes and many essential baby items.  Sydney can't wait to meet her baby girl cousin.  They are going to have so much fun together.

Sydney is doing great.  She had her 6 month appointment almost 2 weeks ago.  She's 26 3/4 inches (90%) and 16 lbs 14.9 ounces (75%).  She's enjoying her fruits and veggies, but still prefers her veggies.  She's tried everything except sweet potatoes.  That's next on the list.  She's also doing much better with her cereal.  She's up to 4 tablespoons which is what she's supposed to eat for a meal. 

She likes to roll around the room.  We usually put a big quilt down and let her take off.  She's so close to crawling.  I'd say she's creeping.  She's starting to reach for people to hold her.  Sometimes she can't make up her mind though...she'll reach for someone and then reach back for me.  We got her her first "laptop" the other day.  She can push the different buttons and numbers and images will appear on the screen.  It also has a Spanish mode for her to learn to count in Spanish, something her daddy likes. 

She had another photo shoot with our friend Ashby.  She did such a good job.  I can't wait to see them all.  I got to sneak a peak at a few while Ashby was shooting.  They looked really great!  We'll have those in about another month.  For now here's a few others that we've taken.

6 months old

Sydney is 6 months old today!!! I can't believe 6 months have come and gone since she was born. It is amazing how much she has grown and matured. She's such a cutie. She's cut 2 teeth and is so cute when she smiles. She's laughing so much now, most of the time at Barnie. I'm glad she finds him amusing. She's doing great eating her solids. We've figured out that in order for her to eat her cereal we have to mix it with juice. She's tried green beans, apples, peas, and carrots so far. She likes apples the least. I'm glad she likes her veggies so much. Next on the list is bananas--her treat for tonight since she's celebrating her 1/2 birthday. :)

Trips, Oatmeal, and Green beans

This post will have to be short.  But I wanted to post pics of her recent activities.  Sydney went to the Gulf Coast to visit Auntie Em.  Yesterday we went to Atlanta and Sydney had her first meal, a bottle, at the Varsity.  She's also starting eating oatmeal cereal since she wasn't a big fan of the rice cereal.  She definitely likes the oatmeal better than the rice.  She also just had her first veggie tonight--green beans.  She actually liked them.  She kept opening her mouth for more.  She's continuing to grow everyday.  We love her so much!  Enjoy the pictures.
