Anyone who knows me knows that I love to go shopping. I had some time to kill today while Jonathan was in meetings at his conference, so I went to Motherhood Maternity to try one some pants. I can still wear my clothes, it's just that when I sit down it's a little uncomfortable. The "beBand" does not work as it should. I guess because I'm not big enough to keep it in place. So, I was so excited to find some pants that wouldn't cut into me. Well, the lady in the shop was so annoying. She had to know every little detail. She was trying to get me to try on all these different clothes, which weren't that cute, and then I swear she stood outside my door and asked me if that item worked after I tried on every single piece.
As usual, nothing ever fits me right. One size fit great, problem is, if I gain any weight in the thighs and hips, then they wouldn't fit. The next size up was way too big. I could have fit two of me in there. Oh well. I guess I'll wait a couple of weeks before I try that again.
It was neat though because they had a "belly" band to try on. The belly was the size of 7 mo. pregnant. I tried it on under some of the clothes. I couldn't believe what I saw. I couldn't believe that in 4 more months I'd look like that. It was really kind of neat. Well, guess that's it for now. I'll try to post some NYC pics in a minute.

Back from NYC
Just got back yesterday from NYC. We had a great time and beautiful weather. Temperatures were in the 70s which is 20 degrees higher than their average for this time of year. We were pretty exhausted from the vacation and now need a vacation from the vacation. Mom (Sharon) took care of Barnie while we were gone. Barnie gets a vacation from us and his routine while he's at what we call "The Ranch." With 5 other animals there and cows in the pasture behind the Jennings' land it sort of does have that feeling. Mom just needs her alpacas to complete it. :)
I'll post pictures of NY soon. I need to sort through them and edit them before posting them.
Today officially marks the beginning of the last week of my 1st trimester! Yea!!!! Hopefully the morning sickness will end soon. Yesterday was rough. I was fine on the plane going up there, but yesterday was stormy in some areas so we had lots of turbulence--especially coming into B'ham. Today's been better and I'm craving tacos. Jonathan will be glad to hear that tonight. The baby is now the size of a peach. :)
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes for both of us. We love and appreciate all of you!

Heart beat
Today we went to for an OB appointment. I was a little nervous because today we were supposed to hear the fetal heart beat. A week ago today, I was rear-ended by a truck as I was turning into the neighborhood and thank God was not injured, but I was worried that something may have happened to the baby. I wasn't too worried though, because I have had so much morning sickness since then. Anyways...back to the appointment. Jonathan came which made me excited since we would both get to hear our baby together for the first time. The nurse of course started with a disclaimer that just because we do not hear anything doesn't mean that we have anything to worry about. I was praying that we would be able to hear our little one. She started by finding my heart beat. She asked if I was nervous--I guess because mine was fast. Then she moved the doppler around a little and then thub, dub, thub, dub. Over and over again! I was so happy to finally hear the baby! Jonathan was smiling and recorded the sound. Hopefully, when he gets home I can download it to the computer off his cell phone so you all can hear. The nurse said the heart rate was in the 160s, which is what it should be. Anything between 120 and 180 beats/minute is normal. The doctor later came in and said everything was great and that she was happy with everything so far. I go back in 4 weeks for another follow-up and will probably have to wait till late April or early May to find out the sex. I am trying not to think about that too much, but I'm starting to get anxious. I think I'll try and set up a poll where everyone can vote on whether or not they think it'll be a boy or a girl. So, check back later for that. Thanks for all your prayers today!

A Growing Family
We're pregnant! Most of you probably know this already since we were so excited and could not contain our excitement. Our due date is September 24th give or take a week or two on either side. It's hard to believe that I'm almost through with my first trimester. Just 2 more weeks. And thank goodness! The morning sickness has been terrible. And I have no idea who coined that term, because it's definitely not just during the morning. It's all day! Our first ultrasound was great! It was so neat to see the tiny heart beating (158 beats/minute). I can't wait until the next US so that we can actually see something other than a peanut. And I can't wait to find out the sex. We'll be thrilled of course either way, but I am getting stir-crazy to go shopping for something blue or pink. Thursday is our next appointment. We'll be able to hear the heartbeat which will be so comforting to finally hear. Please keep us in your prayers. We'll try to update as often as possible.
